Our Terms of Service

These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) are between Nitty Gritty Coaching (referred to as “Coach”) and any individual engaging our services (referred to as “Client”). By purchasing or participating in our coaching services (“Services”), you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Coach abides by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Code of Ethics (www.coachingfederation.org).

  • The Coach will be honest about their qualifications and create a safe, confidential space for coaching.

  • The Client is fully responsible for their own decisions, actions, and outcomes.

  • Coaching may explore many life areas (e.g. career, health, relationships), but all decisions and changes are the Client’s responsibility.

  • Coaching is not therapy, counselling, or medical treatment. Clients are responsible for seeking support from appropriate professionals if needed.

  • To get the most out of coaching, Clients agree to be open, honest, and prepared, and to find a quiet, private space for sessions.

  • The coaching relationship is shaped by the Client’s goals and desired areas of focus.

2. Scope of Services

  • This Agreement starts on the date the Client purchases a service and remains in effect until the end of the program or unless terminated (see Section 6).

  • Services are as advertised on the Nitty Gritty Coaching website or platforms.

  • Sessions are held online unless otherwise agreed.

  • The Coach may be available between sessions via email or agreed platforms.

  • Clients are responsible for booking their sessions and ensuring they’re completed within the agreed time period (e.g. 6-month programs conclude six months from purchase).

  • Sessions and package details (e.g. duration) are set per program.

  • Clients must provide accurate contact information and keep it up to date.

  • Clients are responsible for having working technology and basic tech know-how before sessions begin.

  • Clients are encouraged to take their own notes and manage between-session actions.

  • Any changes to services must be agreed upon in writing (e.g. via email or text).

  • Full payment is due before services begin unless otherwise arranged.

3. Cancellations & Missed Sessions

  • Please give at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel a session.

  • Cancellations or no-shows within 24 hours may be charged at the full rate.

  • The Coach will make reasonable efforts to reschedule if notice is given.

4. Confidentiality

  • All coaching conversations are confidential, in accordance with the ICF Code of Ethics.

  • Exceptions apply in cases of illegal activity, valid legal orders, or imminent risk of harm.

  • Both Coach and Client commit to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive or proprietary information.

  • The Client agrees to raise any concerns around confidentiality promptly.

5. Privacy & Record Keeping

  • Nitty Gritty Coaching takes data privacy seriously and complies with Australian privacy law.

  • The Coach may keep brief notes for client benefit and ICF credentialing.

  • Records are stored securely and disposed of appropriately.

  • For credentialing purposes, basic session details (name, email, session dates) may be retained. Clients can opt out of ICF verification contact at any time.

6. Termination

  • Clients may stop coaching at any time.

  • Either party may terminate the Agreement with two weeks’ notice via email or text.

  • Services delivered up to the termination date must be paid in full.

7. Liability

  • The Coach offers no guarantees about specific outcomes.

  • The Client accepts full responsibility for the results of coaching.

  • The Coach’s total liability is limited to the amount paid by the Client for services under this Agreement.

  • This Agreement overrides all prior written or spoken agreements.

  • A failure to enforce any part of this Agreement does not waive the right to enforce other parts later.

8. Disputes

  • If a dispute arises, both parties agree to try to resolve it through mediation for up to 30 days.

  • Clients may report ethical concerns to the ICF at www.coachingfederation.org.

  • If any part of this Agreement is deemed invalid, the remaining parts will still apply.
